ADMISSION

We believe our school is the best place for teens to grow, and we have a long history of getting amazing results from teens who were not thriving in their previous environment. We believe everyone deserves an opportunity to see if they can flourish in our program.

We make sure that prospective students understand our program and our philosophy, and have had the chance to sit in on a few classes. We try to get to know them too, both who they are as a person, and how they are at school. If all this seems like a mutual fit, and the student can reasonably commit to being a positive part of our community, they are welcome into the school.

When a student starts at September High School, they sign our community contract as an assessment member. It's a time for students to start settling in to the school and their classes while developing a connection to the community. After a semester, a student will again sign the community member contract, this time as a full community member. This ritual acknowledges the successful entry the student has made into the school, and is almost inevitable giving the nourishing environment and strong relationships that we cultivate.
