John Dunn, Interim Head of School & English Teacher
John holds a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts, and an MA in Education Foundations, Policy, and Practice from the University of Colorado. Before coming to September High School, he helped students by tutoring, mentoring, and facilitating writing workshops. Along with teaching different levels of composition and literature and elective classes, John also provides academic counseling to ensure each student’s path to graduation and supports the process for programming after high school. In addition to his counseling duties, he also facilitates academic program improvement.

Whitney Johnston, Business Manager
Whitney Johnston, a Boulderite for 20 years, received her Broker Associates License through the CU Boulder Real Estate Division. Before September School, Whitney had spent the past 14 years working as the Director of Business Development at a local firm. Whitney has always had a strong desire to participate in a youth education program and is very excited to give back to the community by being a part of September School. With her life experience as a youth in Boulder and her extensive executive office experience, she brings a new energy to the team.

Rob Donoho, Science Teacher
Rob has a degree in Biology from the University of Colorado, and a BFA from Boston University. He has been a big part of September School since 1988, teaching courses in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Ecology, and more. In addition to providing reliably rigorous and engaging instruction, Rob has long shown his commitment to September High School by leading students on school trips around the country and the globe.

Jeff Hamilton, PE, Health and Performing Arts Teacher
Jeff backs up his BA in Anthropology with a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Reiki master status. Our Physical Education and Performing Arts instructor since 1993, Jeff offers basketball and volleyball classes, along with classes like Chi Gung, Art of the Sword, Theater, and Human Issues. Jeff’s leadership trips often prove life-changing for our students, and his daily, all-school Community Class is part of the fabric of our school program.

Leslie Gustason, Guidance Counselor
Leslie brings an MA in counseling and 30 years of experience in education and psychology to September School. She focuses on trust and creating a safe, open atmosphere for students to freely discuss their thoughts in both one-on-one sessions and larger gatherings. Besides providing psychosocial support to our students, Leslie also teaches classes such as Mind-Body Wellness and Group Class to promote positive growth and well being while our students navigate the turbulent teen years. Leslie’s goal is to give our students room to speak and to provide a path for self actualization.

Joy Eisenhauer, Director of Arts
Joy is a University of Colorado alum with a BFA who, after running her own studio for five years, decided to share art in more ways by earning a teaching license. Her classes cover ceramics, photography, Photoshop, and more. As Director of Arts, Joy coordinates our After Hours Arts program in partnership with the YMCA which provides free programming to all Boulder County Teens. Her vision and inspiration are assets to September High School.
Angela Beloian, Art Teacher
Angela is a professional artist, with a BFA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, whose works have been featured nationally. Thanks to her efforts, many September High School students have had their artwork displayed in local galleries and businesses. Angela designs her Painting, Drawing, and Mixed Media classes to promote personal growth and help students find motivation through art. With her energy and experience, Angela does great things at September High School.

Cameron Hays, Social Studies Teacher
Cameron is a licensed teacher and has a BA in Ethnomusicology from Lewis and Clark College, as well as an MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado. In addition to his Government, Geography, and History classes, Cameron instructs September School’s music ensembles, and teaches courses on Music Theory, Psychology, and more. In class, he shares his passion for historical and political debate.

Dan Beliveau, Mathematics Teacher
Dan carries a BS in Traditional Mathematics from George Mason University, and he has years of experience as a tutor and an assistant teacher. Dan’s diverse interests and advanced knowledge enable him to teach provide not only mathematic instruction to our students but also to providing tutoring in most subjects including science, SAT and ACT prep, and Spanish. His contributions play a key role in helping keep students on-track academically.
